Four Dot Open Up

EHD - Four Dot Open Up

Description:

Players line up on all four dots in neutral zone.

One-Touch Face the Puck (Black)

  1. on the whistle, both halves leave at the same time, 01 and 03 (one side shown). 01 skates forward with the puck and passes it to 02.
  2. After making the pass, 01 pivots facing the puck and receives a return pass from 02.
  3. 01 moves in for a shot on net.

One Touch Through the Middle (Blue)

  1. On whistle both halves leave at the same time, 01 and 03 (one side shown). 03 starts skating forward without a puck.
  2. 04 gives a pass to 03.
  3. 03 one-touches the puck back to 04.
  4. 03 moves toward the top of the circle and pivots, opening up to receive a pass from 04 wide through the middle.
  5. 5. 04 heads toward the net and in for a shot goal.

Key Points:

Do not turn you back to the puck

Whistle is required for every rep

Barrett Leganchuk

Barrett Leganchuk is the Scouting Coordinator for the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League. He served on the Coaching staff for Team Canada West at the 2014 World Under 17 Hockey Challenge in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Prior to joining the Jets, Barrett has spent over eight years coaching most previous having spent two years as an assistant coach with the Winnipeg Blues of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. He has also directed and assisted in many different hockey schools in the summer months. Leganchuk holds a BA in Business Administration from Providence College, Otterburne Manitoba and received his High Performance 1 coaching level from Hockey Canada in 2010.
