Gatorade Coach of the Year

In Coaching Hockey by The Coaches Site

The Coaches Site is thrilled to announce that the winner of this year’s GATORADE COACH OF THE YEAR Award is Shawn McQuistin.

The 26-year-old Richmond native has been coaching in the Seafair Minor Hockey Association for five years, including three years of spring hockey, at the Bantam and Atom levels. This year, Shawn will be coaching the Atom A1 team.

Shawn’s approach to coaching is to create a fun and positive environment in which kids can develop and succeed. Recognized by players, parents, and colleagues for his love of the game and enthusiasm, Shawn has also won Coach of the Year in back to back seasons with Seafair Minor Hockey.

The Gatorade Canada Coach of the Year award considers nominated coaches from across Western Canada. We’d like to congratulate Shawn on a job well done and offer our sincere thanks for his efforts in expanding the game through grassroots hockey.

The Coaches Site will present Shawn with his award at this year’s TeamSnap Hockey Coaches Conference, taking place July 14-15 at the Fortius Sport and Health. Delegates from around the world will be attending the conference in order to learn from some of the most innovative minds and exciting coaches in hockey today.
