Andreas Athanasiou Toe Drag Goal vs Wild

Andreas Athanasiou has submitted his early bid for NHL Goal of the Year. The speedy Chicago Blackhawks’ forward capped off the month of October with a nasty backhand goal that requires a breakdown to fully appreciate. With the Blackhawks and Wild tied 2-2 during the 3rd period of a Central Division clash, Athanasiou put the team on his back to break the deadlock. Athanasiou skillfully picked up a pass in the neutral zone from Patrick Kane, before undressing Minnesota’s Matt Dumba with an outside-inside move and finishing top shelf on the backhand.
