It’s never too early to teach defensive principles. I am a firm believer in not specializing in a set position until at least 12. But these fun games help promote a good defensive mindset off the puck. Once again, the use of games simply takes the principle and applies it to the game using a number of constraints that highlight what we as educators are looking to see from our players. The 3 games should be played progressively to optimize learning. Avoid giving the answers and solutions but ask questions that will help guide the players to find the right answers!!!
