It’s the most wonderful time of the year! For hockey coaches from St. John’s to the Sunshine Coast, it’s a time to forget about the real world of work, practice, and whatever else drags you down. It’s time to focus on hockey tournaments, games, short term competitions, and a relatively new ritual here in Canada: the IIHF World Junior Hockey Tournament.

You know who knows a thing or two about the World Juniors? Don Hay. The current head coach of the Kamloops Blazers has led Canada into the tournament twice. We caught up with Don today to talk about his experiences at the World Junior Tournament, plus a secret or two about getting his Kamloops Blazers out of an early season funk.
