Goal scorers who are considered naturals are anything but – they’re devoted to their craft and they spend the time necessary to hone it to the point that it only looks natural. There isn’t a hockey player on the planet who doesn’t enjoy spending time around the opponent’s net with only their eyes, hands, and a puck on their stick. Sense Arena’s specific drills tailored to scoring skills encourage decision making and orientation around the net. Coaches can set the velocity of shots or the speed of rebounds coming off a virtual goaltender so players can progress at the edge of their comfort zone.

Drills specific to scoring goals and developing net presence help hockey players develop confidence and composure once they’re on the ice and competing in the real thing. These drills also help players work on tipping shots and finding rebounds without the risk of being injured. Because of the fast pace and random nature of our game, it’s nearly impossible to devote the time necessary in traditional practices to thoroughly and truly develop scoring skills and instincts around the net.

This video includes:

  • Tipping and net presence drill without the risk of being injured
  • Setting rebound speed or puck velocity
