CoachThem Drill of the Week: Goal Line Goalie Puck Tracking Drill

Drill Description

  • Player start at the top of each circle and two players positioned below the goal line
  • Players pass the puck around until it reaches a player at the top of the circle, player will then take a shot
  • Goalie will track the puck’s movement and follow accordingly (skate on post and shuffles or pad-slides when below the goal line, T-push to player when at top of the circle)
  • Goalie will get set in athletic stance for the shot
Key Points:
  • Lead with eyes, stick, gloves and feet
  • Quiet upper body
  • Control the rebound to redirect shots to corners
