Hockey Share Drill of the Week: Forward Breakouts

In Drills by HockeyShare

Drill Description:

The Coach starts the Drill by rimming the puck.

The 2 red forwards break the puck out by opening up on the wall and swinging through the middle.

The green forward acts as a high forechecker to put pressure on the red forward on the boards.

The red forward on the boards makes a quick play to the red forward swinging though the middle.

The red forwards tag up and attack 2 vs 1 on the green forward.

The drill is then repeated on the other side with green forwards breaking the puck out.

Different plays can be used to practice breakout patterns.
