During her Virtual Hockey Summit presentation, de Bree discussed the ways coaches can help players increase their creativity in game play, touching on skill development, drill selection, and the role of the team environment.
“Athletes these days aren’t watching games like they used to, a lot of them are watching highlights and seeing small snippets of the game..." Amy did a great job in explaining how a practice should be run. If a person just got into coaching this is the site they should go on first.

Great presentation! Love that you referenced and used Ericsson’s research! Relieved to hear you mix it up and then come back to it later because that’s what I have been doing. My biggest takeaway though is that I need to improve on is when and how I give feedback. It was awesome that you didn’t just tell us it was bad but you provided the science on why it’s not useful to athletes. I will work on this!!! I think our philosophy of puck possession (team & individual) gives them room for mistakes but I still can do better one on one!!
This was awesome!
Thank you!

P.S. This should be at the top of the Coaches Site because I believe 99% of coaches need to watch this video….there is something for everyone here:-)
