“What’s your spirit animal?”
That was a question Dr. Saul Miller asked a team of midget hockey players of which I was the coach a few years back, and the responses were fantastic. Tiger. Eagle. Shark.
Then Ethan Cap said Gorilla and the entire room exploded. Ethan plays for the Edmonton Oil Kings now and hearing him describe himself as a gorilla – big, strong, intimidating – it makes a lot of sense.
Check out Dr. Miller’s book Hockey Tough.
That’s what Saul Miller does. He gets into the mind of the young hockey player by encouraging them to go within themselves. Dr. Miller is a mental performance coach who’s worked in the business world, the arts, and of course, sports.
Aaron and I caught up with Dr. Miller on the Glass & Out podcast to talk about hockey players, athletes, and how to set up your own You Tube channel.
