What a start to the Virtual Hockey Summit!
Running all this week, September 13th to 17th, the Virtual Hockey Summit opened with a bang Monday with five 45-minute presentations. Jeff Blashill, head coach of the Detroit Red Wings, kicked things off by providing tips for planning and executing a successful practice. Blashill, alongside host and The Coaches Site founder Aaron Wilbur, provided practical tips to improve any practice, any time, regardless of age or level.
Day 1 also featured a lesson on defensive team play from Derek Laxdal (assistant coach of the Dallas Stars), a talk on selling ‘the message’ from Adam Maglio (Spokane Chiefs coach), insights on using small area games to develop your power play with Larry Huras (technical director with Hockey Coach Vision), and the link between mental wellness and performance was discussed by Dave Barr (Team Canada U18 National Team head coach), Alan Millar (Team Canada U18 National Team director of player personnel), Ashwin Patel (Team Canada U18 National Team mental performance consultant) and moderator Jessica Renney (co-founder of Hone Athletics).
The Virtual Hockey Summit is free for members of The Coaches Site. Sign up today for only $99 CDN (regular price $119.99).
